The 2008 year has come to an end and we want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all of your support. Long Island had close to 30 events this year with 4 new competitions, and none of them would have been possible without all of you.
I know with your help we can continue to grow while still offering the highest quality of competition. Good work everyone and congratulations on such a successful year!

Winter Coaches Conference
Long Island Special Olympics Winter Coaches Conference will be at StonyBrookUniversity on November 23, 2008 from 9AM - 2PM. We will be offering CPR as a recertification tool, followed by General Sessions for new Coaches and a FloorHockeySportTraining School taught by Glen Manaker for all other Coaches. All Coaches attending this conference are asked to bring in their Rosters and fill out a State Demand Case Survey upon arrival.
Hofstra will be hosting a Softball Clinic for ALL Special Olympics Athletes on November 22, 2008 from 11AM - 2PM. This clinic is open to everyone no matter if you train in Softball or not. Please do your best to come down and participate in this great day.
Once again Lawrence Highschool has offered us the use of their facility for our Long Island Floor Hockey Tournament. Carol Roseto has done an outstanding job with this event in the past with the help from many of her students and I'm sure that she will once again exceed all expectations and make this event better then the last.
