Sports Clinic
&
Coaches Training School at Lutheran High School
This clinic will run only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 8 – August 21, 2008
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Thursdays 6:00pm – 7:00pm | Coaches Training School |

This is for Basketball, Tennis & Softball only

Warren Fletcher:
Our very own Warren Fletcher will be the recipient of the:
EP Maxwell J. Schleifer Distinguished Service Award
At Disability Awareness Night at Shea Stadium on June 25.
Anyone who has met Warren knows that this award could not be given to a more deserving person. Warren is an amazing man who has devoted his life to helping others and all of us here at Special Olympics are extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to work with him over the last 20 years. Warren is an invaluable representative and member of our organization and we are overjoyed to share in his recognition at Shea Stadium. There may be some tickets available at our office for this event, but we urge everyone to go out make sure you are there on the 25th to show Warren your appreciation. Congratulation Warren!!!!!

Summer Games:
Congratulation to all of our Athletes and Coaches who are participating in the New York State Summer Games in Binghamton! Our Athletes have done an outstanding job in competitions and all their training and hard work has paid off. Through many weeks of intense training our Athletes have earned the right to represent Long Island and we are sure they will compose themselves in a respectful and professional manner, and we are proud to sponsor them. Please go out of your way to congratulate both the Athletes and Coaches from the following training clubs who will represent all of us in front of the entire State of New York.

Athletes are asked to be there by 8:15 am. Opening Ceremonies begins at 9:00 am. We would like to thank Great Neck North High School in advance for hosting this competition. We would also like to thank our Volunteers from Minneola High School for Volunteering to take charge of our Skills Competition.
We urge ALL of our Athletes to come and cheer on your peers in this tournament.
2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games:
2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games is looking for qualified Volunteer Officials and Coaches. If you are interested in applying to be an Official the positions are for Alpine Skiing, Figure Skating, Snowboarding, Floor Hockey or Speedskating. The Coaching positions are (sport specific) for Alpine, Cross Country, Figure Skating, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Speed Skating.
* Team USA will NOT be selecting a Head Coach for Floor Hockey through this application process.
Please fill out the appropriate application attached and send it in to the office via mail, fax or email.

How Strong, Powerful and Fast are You?
Peak Performance and the New York Dragons are teaming up to test the limits of Performance this Sunday at the New York Dragons Practice Arena. If you would like a baseline assessment of your Lacrosse, Softball, Baseball, Soccer, Football and Basketball skills through the same testing techniques used by College and the Pro teams then come down from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Anyone interested should call:
